I wrote a song this weekend inspired by Greg Egan’s short story “Learning To Be Me”.
I also made significant progress in my code to puppet and motion-capture the characters in my VR flying saucer story.
To celebrate, here is a video of me in the ship’s galley (and also in my studio) doing a victory dance to that song with the crew of the ship.
The short story, which is in “Axiomatic” is much better than the song. All the good things in the words are Egan’s doing and all the bad things are my kludgy hacking try to get it to rhyme.
Still many motion-capture issues and bugs and 3d model issues in the video. Much still to do.
